THERAPY IS an important COMMITMENT of your time and money.
IT’S ALSO A PLACE FOR YOU TO EXPERIENCE GROWTH AND HEALING IN A WAY THAT CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE forever.
When you finally make the decision to go to therapy, you’re ready to get going. Our work together is a way for you to find a fresh beginning and can be a very potent time. It is time you take for you. As a therapist, my focus is on your needs and goals. I will work with you on understanding what is getting in your way, help you create a fresh vision for yourself and the steps you need to achieve that vision. I am fully committed to your best version of yourself - not what others determine is necessary.
Insurance companies often dictate what services you may receive, how many sessions you can have or how long it MUST take to reach your goals. They will also require a diagnosis and written progress of your private therapy sessions. I believe it is important for you to understand this becomes part of your medical record if you choose to have insurance pay for your therapy.
Out Of Pocket Investment
I abide by all ethical standards of my license as directed by New York State and the National Association of Social Work (NASW).
Clients who pay privately insure their records remain fully confidential. This is an investment in yourself, not just your time and your money. Please consider all your options when deciding your payment options.
For Individuals
Initial Intake Appointment (75 minutes): $250
Standard 50 minute Individual session: $175
INSURANCE
I PARTICIPATE WITH only a few INSURANCE PANELS
AND may be CONSIDERED AN OUT-OF-NETWORK PROVIDER for others.
If using your insurance is necessary for you please see note below regarding accessing insurance through Headway.co
I take Northwell Direct health insurance outside of Headway.Co
in recognition and support of healthcare professionals.
Providing all my clients with the best care is my top priority. I have made the choice to protect I clients best interests by not being dictated to by most insurance companies on clinical decisions. Length of treatment, frequency, or length of sessions and mandated mental health diagnosis are insurance company requirements that attempt to control services with little regard for therapeutic input.
i believe BYPASSING INSURANCE provides the most
FLEXIBILITY AND PRIVACY FOR my CLIENTS.
Typically insurance had only covered face-to-face sessions Today I am able to provide online therapy for those who are practicing social isolation, required to work from home, self quarantining or home for any reason.
I am able to keep your records completely secure and confidential without having to provide a mental health diagnosis as required by insurance companies. You can be confident no one will ever know you’re in therapy unless you tell them and there will be no diagnosis on your permanent health record. This may be important to you if you are planning on going into certain lines of work and your health record gets scrutinized.
Please understand the risks you are choosing to take when you decide to take the insurance based path. I am happy to discuss your options with you before you make your decision.
There are still options for you.
I am now connected with Headway.Co and have a few spots open for insurance-paid sessions.

If the cost of counseling seems to be out of reach, consider the following:
Use pre-tax dollars. Did you know that you can use your Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account to pay for therapy using pre-tax dollars? Please note that some HSA accounts make it harder to get couples therapy covered, so check on that before you get started
See if you could deduct therapy expenses from your taxes as an out-of-pocket health expense. Speak with your tax preparer to find out if this option works for you.
I will prepare a Superbill for you to present to your insurance as an out of network provider. What that means is that you will pay for your session up front and may be reimbursed by your insurance company according to your policy.
Compare the financial cost of short-term therapy to the possible long-term emotional costs of NOT seeking help: the benefits far outweigh the expense. Therapy is an investment in yourself.
I work with OpenPath.org to offer affordable mental healthcare options. I have limited slots and this option is not always available.
