Mary Ellen
I got into therapy because I love this work. I love helping people. I started pursuing my dream of being a therapist after I raised my family and I am SO glad I did. I LOVE helping people like you overcome their challenges.
I have been helping women and men for over 20 years. My Masters of Social Work is from Adelphi University and I hold a New York State license in Clinical Social Work. I am fully licensed in South Carolina as a Clinical Social Worker and I am licensed to practice telehealth in Florida.
Our work together isn’t based on one defined modality (a fancy way of saying how something is done). Each person is in a unique place when they begin therapy and I tailor our sessions to where they are now and help them get to where they want to be when we have finished our work together.
You can expect to be welcomed with curiosity and respect and totally free of judgement. I recommend starting with a free consultation to see if we are a good fit to work together. Don’t worry that you will be left to start all over if either of us decide I’m not the right clinician for you. I have great referrals to offer to help you find exactly the help you seek.
Once we do begin working together, we will start off getting to know one another a bit. This is where I’ll be asking all about you and what brought you to this point. I recommend weekly sessions, eventually tapering to bi-weekly. It’s so important to honor yourself and give yourself the chance to work through your concerns.
When not working, you will find me exploring our country’s hidden gems and parks, listening to Americana music, and hanging out with my favorite people - my family.
